Simple Guide: How to Make Delicious Pakoras at Home

Classic Potato Pakoras

 

 

Ingredients:

 

  • 2 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • ​​1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water, as needed
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

 

  1. In a bowl, combine chickpea flour, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add water to the flour mixture to make a smooth batter with a thick consistency.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Dip the potato slices into the batter, they are evenly coated.
  5. Carefully drop the coated potato slices into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the pakoras from the oil and drain excess oil on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite chutney or dipping sauce.

 

Spinach and Onion Pakoras

 

 

Ingredients:

 

  • 1 cup spinach leaves, chopped
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • ​​1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1 teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Water, as needed
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

 

  1. In a bowl, mix together chopped spinach, sliced ​​onion, chickpea flour, carom seeds, garam masala, and salt.
  2. Gradually add water to the mixture to form a thick batter.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until the pakoras are golden brown and crisp.
  5. Remove the pakoras from the oil and drain excess oil on paper towels.
  6. Serve hot with mint chutney or tamarind sauce.

  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder

  2. Gradually add water to the mixture to make a smooth batter.
  3. Dip paneer cubes into the batter, ensuring they are evenly coated.

  5. Fry the coated paneer cubes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from the oil and drain excess oil on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with mint chutney for a refreshing flavor.
